I find Rose (blush) wines are great for the summer. Rose wine has the richness and depth of a red wine, while also having the lightness of a white wine. The biggest problem with rose wine is when people of rose wine they think sweet, or white zinfandel. I have no facts on how many rose wines are sweet ( I don't think there are any facts about that) but I would guess about only half of the rose wines are sweet.
The Guilhem Rose (2009) is a delicate wine. It taste like strawberry, not jolly rancher strawberry, but the smell of a fresh cut non-juicy strawberry.
I would highly recommend this wine. It is a great wine to have on a warm summer day, while sitting outside. I bought the Moulin De Gassac Guilhem Rose 2009, a while ago. Currently the 2010 is probably what is available. I have not tried the 2010 vintage but from what I have read it is just as good. The last wonderful thing about this wine is it under $10!
Enjoy the summer and a great rose wine.
